Coburn Technologies will showcase its products at Vision Expo East in Orlando, Fla., from February 20-22. Coburn also recently attended MIDO, a trade show in Milan, Italy, from February 8-10. Representatives from Coburn will also attend several other trade shows later in the year.

Velocity TT, the market’s newest tabletop optical lens spin coater, will be one of Coburn’s products featured at the Orlando show. The Velocity TT Spin Coating System is a compact, cost-efficient solution that occupies substantially less space. It is designed to meet the needs of small and mid-size labs, making high-quality lens coating accessible for labs of any size.

Velocity TT loads two lenses simultaneously, offering set-it-and-forget functionality, which frees up operators to perform other productive tasks during the coating cycle. Its intuitive workflow includes a simple and convenient loading station, washing station and curing station and coats with All Solids (100 percent Solids) coatings, processing two lenses in just two minutes (a throughput of 40-50 lenses per hour.) Equipped with advanced motor technology, Velocity TT ensures consistent spin speeds for uniform coating without requiring calibration.

Vision Expo East, which will be held at the Orange County Convention Center, is the most comprehensive event for the vision community. Coburn recently exhibited at MIDO in Italy along with Germany-based COTEC. Both are subsidiaries of SDC Technologies. The businesses showcased Velocity TT and the NEXUS DGT Digital Surfacing System, which leverages the technology in the Cobalt Digital Lab to produce high-quality digital Rx lenses. The NEXUS DGT offers a 50 percent improvement in productivity, a new fast tool servo axis consisting of a proprietary voice coil and air bearing design, and other upgrades.
